Vaseline Lip Therapy - Honest Review

Hey hey! So I'm back with a little review of the original Vaseline Lip Therapy! This stuff claims that it will provide you with soft and smooth lips. Being someone who has fought with her lips a lot (mainly picking and biting them) I wanted to give this a shot!

I have used this product just about every night for the last 2 months. (Before I started using this, my lips were extremely chapped and just gross. I am someone who loves the feel of smooth lips but as soon as I have even the tiniest rough patch, I'll pick at it and then it's just a downward spiral!) But anyway, I have LOVED this stuff! My lips have never been smoother and they are super baby soft. I can wear lipstick and lipgloss again with confidence knowing that my lips look healthy and soft.

I am currently on my third little vial of this stuff and nothing else I've found that has similar claims has been up to par. The original lip therapy is just incredible! And the best part is is that it's SUPER CHEAP and can be found pretty much everywhere!

The coco butter version, on the other hand, has not been as much of a hit. While the smell is amazing, I've found that it really isn't as hydrating and moisturizing as the original formula. I have always loved coco butter products, so I was really jazzed when I saw that they had this new version out. But it just wasn't the same.

So moral of the story, the Vaseline Lip Therapy (Original) is simply amazing and I recommend it to everyone. It is certainly with the $2.75 I paid for it and I know you won't be disappointed!

Review: Lorac Pro Palette

Hello all you lovely people! So I have been using my Lorac PRO palette for a few days now and I am absolutely in love with it! The shadows are super smooth, creamy, and pigmented and the primer is a wonderful bonus!

Lately I have been reaching for more matte eye shadows than shimmers but I believe that is just because I didn't really like matte shadows until this palette and my Stila in the light palette. However, over the last few weeks, I've been using the Lorac pro for a lot of different occasions.

The palette contains 16 different eye shadows - 8 matte and 8 shimmer. All together, the shadows have little fallout when used with the primer and they are very pigmented. I have personally had many compliments on my eye shadow since using the palette. The shimmery shadows are amazing and very easy to apply.

I have mainly used the palette for my every day eye look and I gravitate more towards the matte shadows lately. I have really enjoyed using this palette and I highly recommend it! So, why not go and treat yourself to something fabulous such as this palette?!

     Talk to y'all real soon!

Review: Revlon colorstay liquid eye pens

Lately I have been searching for a new liquid eyeliner to replace my Loreal telescopic liquid liner. I believe I have found my holy grail liquid liner, the Revlon colorstay liquid pen.

I have been loving Revlon lately and I believe that it is one of the best drug store brands out there! Their products are amazing! I had seen a few reviews of the Revlon liquid eye pens and thought I would give them a try. So I went down to my local target and picked up the pens in black and blackened brown. Boy do I love these!

I couldn't even wait until I got home to open them! I went out to my car and decided I was going to try them out then and there (needless to say I had some confused looks comin' my way from other shoppers). These are wonderful little gadgets! The line of the felt tip pen is smooth and easy to work with; the pigmentation of the product is decent (not my favorite but definitely not the worst). I love the fact that the liquid dries instantly as well so there is no awkward line on ones eyelid from wet liner. The formulation of the product itself is nice because it really does last all day!

So even though the pigmentation of the liner isn't as bold as it could be, it is nice for a subtle liner look and it doesn't make your eyes look scary. I secretly think that's why I love it!

Sephora unboxing: Lorac PRO eye shadow palette

Hello again! I recently reached VIB status at Sephora for the year and thought I'd treat myself to something little (like I need anymore makeup lol)! I decided since I could not get the Lorac PRO palette at my local Sephora, I'd order it online and use my free shipping code! I was also delighted to find the package on my doorstep this afternoon when I arrived home from work (It wasn't supposed to arrive until this coming Monday, but hey you don't see me complaining!!)

I'll have a review on the palette coming soon! But first impressions are looking positive :)

   Talk to y'all later

Cider Lane

So since fall has almost come upon us, I figured it was finally time to break out my favorite fall scent - Cider Lane from Bath and Body Works! I went shopping last year to find some new fall scents to really get me into the mood of the changing seasons (and definitely my favorite season!) and I stumbled upon this scent. I went in and perused the scent selection for a good 30 minutes before really settling on Cider lane. For me, many of the other scents, such as Leaves and Pumpkin Caramel Latte and Autumn were just not hitting the right cords for me. They just didn't remind me of when I lived in Vermont; but Cider Lane did!

To me it smells exactly how I picture fall - apples, caramel, and cinnamon! I decided to purchase two of the wall flower bulbs and two of the 3-wick candles. Boy was I in heaven that first day I used them! The throw of both the candle and the wall flower was and still is amazing! It is a rich and warm scent without being too overbearing. It still amazes me too because I have a candle left from last fall that I burnt about half way and it still smells like the first day I lit it!

So when I started sensing fall in the air a few weeks ago, I had to go pick up some additional wallflower bulbs and two additional 3-wick candles. I have not burnt them yet because I am waiting for the perfect day (which I know will be here soon) but I am so excited to smell the warmth and comfort that this scent provides!

Stila's In the light

Wow! I never thought I would love this palette as much as I do! The Stila in the light palette is one of the most amazing palettes I have ever used.

I never thought I would be one to wear matte eye shadow because I always thought it was just strange. But last night, I put on one of the looks in the look book and I fell in love with it! The pigmentation in the eye shadows are phenomenal and there is very little fallout. The shadows apply very easily and last all day even without a primer. That just makes me wonder how much more amazing they become when applied on a base/primer! They are also so natural and I really think I like this palette more than my Urban Decay Naked2 palette. The price is a good bargain for 10 shadows and a full eye pencil.

There is a combination of both shimmer and matte shadows which is perfect for so many combinations! I think I may have to treat myself to the other Stila palettes!

Hello September

My how this year has flown by! I cannot believe that it is already September!

I have to start off by saying how much I love fall and to me this is the perfect time of year! It means I can drink all the apple cider I want, carve pumpkins with my little sisters, enjoy a day of bright blue skies and beautiful orange and red and yellow leaves! I also enjoy cozy nights by the fire in warm cardigans and sweaters. It really is the most wonderful time of the year.

I think I have to credit Vermont for my love of fall! I lived there for the first 5 years of my life and it was truly an absolutely glorious place in the fall months! It meant that the hill sides became a fire of color and the smells of wood burning stoves and campfires with s'mores. I also think that I have a love of fall because it also means my birthday is right around the corner!!

I cannot wait for the crisp days filled with hiking in the colorful woods with leaves crunching under my feet and apple cider in my hand!

Finding confidence

So this is an issue I've dealt with forever - how do I become confident in myself? I've always felt that I am not pretty or skinny enough and that has made a difference in how I carry myself and how people act around me. I've struggled with my weight my entire life and that has really given me bad confidence and I'm not happy with myself.
My friends a always telling me how sweet and caring I am and how I should be more confident with myself...and my sister is always telling me that I should not wear jeans and t-shirts all the time. But I like hiding in those because I have had so much trouble and pain with my weight. For me make up is my confidence and I know people around me are always questioning why I spend so much on makeup and its because its really the only thing that makes me feel like my true self and confident.
I don't spend money on clothes because they just don't make me feel confident or real...I'm not sure why that is but it's been that way since I can remember...but I have to figure that out and figure out how to gain confidence...

Rimmel London Show Off Lip Lacquers

Hello! A few weeks ago I was in Knoxville TN for a lil weekend away. I stopped by the local Walgreens to pick up a few things I had forgotten at home and found these! I have been searching for these for ever since I saw reviews about them on YouTube. In the UK they are known as Apocalips, so I was so excited to find these! Sadly though, I have not seen any more since I have been home :(

The two lip glosses I picked up are Luna and Nova. Luna is a beautiful apricot and peach color where as Nova is a gorgeous hot pink These are absolutely fabulous lip gloss/lip sticks and the color seriously lasts forever. The formulation is also wonderful because they apply so nicely and they are not sticky. I definitely am keeping my eye out for more of these because they are so smooth and just a wonderful overall lip gloss. I also really enjoy that I only need to wear these on my lips because they are so glossy and the gloss is opaque. My one issue is that the Luna gloss looks orange on my lips so I always blot when I wear this color so that its not so overpowering and awkward on me.

If you can find these, I most definitely recommend them! They are honestly some of the most amazing lip products I've tried and I cant wait to find more!

My family and I spent so many hours relaxing in the sun, boogie boarding the small waves, kayaking with wild bottle nose dolphins in the Chesapeake bay, enjoying Ben and Jerry's, and so much more! It was a wonderful and relaxing weekend!

An evening out

Hey hey! Last night I went out with my roommate and some other friends to celebrate her engagement and as I was getting ready I thought I'd share what I used!

I decided to go with a more simple look since it was really hot out and I didn't want the products to melt off my face. I started off with covergirl BB cream and then followed with my Revlon Photo Ready foundation. This is my favorite foundation so I love when I get the chance to use it and make it look flawless! I then applied my Maybellene mineral powder to really set my foundation. I followed this with my absolute favorite bronzer, NARS Laguna. Since I've discovered tho bronzer, I refuse to use any other bronzer because Laguna is so phenomenal. Next I used NARS Madly blush and this is also my favorite since it is so complementary to my skin tone. I finished off using my Smashbox eyebrow duo in brunette to fill in the sparse spots in my brows.

For my eyes, I used NYX jumbo eye pencil in yogurt as a base and followed with two of my NARS eyeshadow duos - Alhambra and Kalahari. I love these because they are 4 colors which can be use interchangeably and they are so flattering on every skin tone. I used the  Kalahari duo on my lid and then blended them in with the light Alhambra shadows as a highlight/blender. At this point, I couldn't decide if I wanted to follow with my liquid eyeliner or just leave them as a subtle smokey eye. I decided to scratch that idea and just use my Revlon color stay eye pencil in dark brown to line my lower water and lash line and then my upper waterline for a little extra definition. I finished the eyes off by first applying 2 coats of Urban Decay lush lash mascara and then a nice coat of L'oreal telescopic shocking extensions mascara.

Finally, to complete my look, I applied Revlon Peony lip gloss for a nice subtle shine.

Toodles!

New L'oreal Colour Riche Lipsticks

Hello again!

So in my most recent stop by target, I stumbled upon some amazing new lipsticks from L'oreal! I saw them and I had to get them! They have a number of new shades of the Colour Riche lipsticks and they are based on fair/light, medium, and dark skin tones. For me, I am in the fair/light skin category so I picked up the two they recommended.

The first one is 135 Ballerina Shoes. It's a beautiful light frosty pink and its beautiful for both everyday and an evening out for drinks with your girlfriends. I really like this color and it also works any time of year

The second one I picked up is 175 I Pink You're Cute. This is my favorite of the two! It's a gorgeous pink with a little bit of coral color. I normally pick nudes and light pinks, but I think now I am going to have to venture to the brighter lipsticks. It is a matte pink in the tube but it leaves a nice sheen! Its a perfect shade for the summer and early fall.

Overall, both of these new shades are absolutely amazing and now I really want to go and check out the other 4 new shades. I'm sure that they will be just as fabulous as these two!

Insanity workout day 1 thoughts

OMG! I like cant move! My roommate and I started insanity today and it really is what it says - INSANITY! But I think that if we stick with it, we will be happy with the results.

I know some of you may think that I'm crazy for trying the routine, but after being really sick for a few weeks in 2011 (and being put on steroids for my illness -bleh!) I need to do this for myself. So don't judge :)

I know that with this workout I will be pushing myself to my limit both physically and most definitely mentally. It's very strenuous and daunting, but the feeling after this workout today was amazing! I felt so accomplished even though I was so tired I was lying on the floor.  Granted I only did the fitness test this afternoon, I've got to get my mind around how challenging this 60 days will be.

Wish me luck lol
